Billy Willian- Board Member, Lead Instructor, Team Member
Billy started motocross racing in 1976 as a recreational sport to release some stress from being a high school teacher and track coach. In the early 80’s, Billy and his wife, Susan built and operated the “Dry Branch MX Track” in Kentucky. Billy worked for Kawasaki Team Green at the amateur nationals from 1983-1989 and started his own company Suspension Plus in 1995 with his wife Susan. He is also dedicated as the treasurer for FCA MX Kenuckiana and helping out the FCA MX Camps in multiple states as the Lead Instructor.
1. When did you become involved with FCA MX and what has been your favorite moment so far?
I started with my first FCA MX camp in 2006 in Indiana at Country Lake Christian Camp.
My favorite moment is watching the campers give their lives to the Lord on invitation night at camp.
2. What is your favorite track?
My favorite track is Redbud in Michigan.
3. What is your favorite bible verse and what does it mean to you?
My favorite Bible verses are Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this age,but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
This means I am the Lord's warrior, a competitor by conviction and a disciple of determination. The results of my efforts must lie in Jesus Christ.
4. What is your most comical track story?
The funniest time at the track would be when a KTM 65 rider rode over the berm in a turn at the North Carolina Camp and ran his bike into the lake completely submerging it. We were able to clean the air filter, drain the gas and oil and replace with new and it ran fine again!
5.Tell us about your family and your favorite thing to do off the track?
My wife, Susan and I have two daughters, Angie and Emily and they are married to Hal and Danny. Emily has three daughters, Hailey, Hannah, and Harper who are ages 14, 11, and 7. We all love to go to Florida on family vacations. Our favorite locations are Destin, Orlando, and, Daytona.
6. What are your summer plans with FCA MX and FCA MX Kentuckiana?
For 2016 I plan on helping with the Michigan FCA MX camp and going to several of the Kentuckiana MX Series races and helping promote the FCA MX camps, Bike Raffle, and Trackside Ministry.
