Ryan Lewellen - Huddle Leader

Ryan is 36 years and lives in Royal Center, Indiana where he serves as a preacher at Pisgah Christian Church. He married the love of his life 15 years ago and they have three children: Ezra (13), Addai (13) and Ayla (6). They are currently in the process of gaining guardianship of two awesome young men, Tracy (15) and Andre (13).

He has been riding dirt bikes since the age of five. Ryan’s first bike was a 1971 Yamaha JT-1 60cc enduro bike, but he currently rides a 2013 Yamaha YZ450F. He doesn’t get to race much now, but gets just as much of a thrill by riding with his children.

1. How long have you been working with FCA MX and how did you get involved?

I have been involved motocross ministry for nearly 15 years and I was blessed to be introduced to Donita 6 years ago through my friend Matt Davis of Throttle Jockey Graphics. I have served as a huddle leader for camps ever since. I have served at multiple camps in Indiana and I also served the past two years in Guatemala. I love that the camps are focused on Christ and allow for time to ride and train with some of the top athletes in our sport. Not many camps can pack so much into one week and change lives in multiple ways.

2. Life verse?

Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight.”

3. What is your ultimate goal to complete within the ministry?

My goal with FCAMX is to use our sport to create bonds with other riders with the intention of leading them into a relationship with Jesus Christ!

4. Throughout your time with FCA MX what is the memorable moment you've had?

One of my most memorable moments at a camp happened a few years ago when after some late night activities one of the other huddle leaders asked if I would baptize him! He grew up going to FCAMX camps and loved the Lord but he had not yet made a life commitment to Christ. That night, at 1:30 am, he went down into the water to bury the old self and came out to live a new life!

5. Where do you most want to travel, but have never been?

I would love to visit Hawaii someday and ride up a volcano.

6. If you could go back in time what year would you travel to?

It may sound cheesy but I don't have a desire to travel to any other time period because I am extremely happy in life right now. Though our society is in disarray I feel that every other time had just as big of problems.

7. Favorite track?

My favorite track is at the MTF – Mclochlin Training Facility where I get to ride with my sons and my best friends.
